Genealogy Research on Bousquet Family
The Bousquet family was the start of my genealogy hobby back in 1990. I know that my great grandfather Wilfred was a child of Jules Bousquet and Celestia Renney. I have completed much research on this family. I am completely stumped on my great great grandmother Celestia. Renney has been spelled so many different ways. Celestia is such a cool ancestor! First off her name is fantastic and different for the time period. I found that although she was married in the french catholic church to Jules on December 24, 1854, she was baptized at the same time and their son William (born circa 1852) was present at this marriage. Some researchers I've consulted with have suggested that Jules and Celestia were married in the protestant church first (presumably before William was born). I cannot find any evidence of that. I do not know where she was born circa 1833. Census' state she was born in Massachusetts, but no evidence. Her father was John, and mother was Beulia Floud (Flood) but I cannot find that anywhere. She is my brick wall and I do get frustrated because the timeframe is really not that long ago.
William's birth is another mystery. EVERY census states he was born in Estates Unitas (United States), but not where. It would seem he was very proud to have been born in the US.
It could be I'm missing something from the french records I've found since I don't read french, but I've been able to put together most of the information with help from people who do speak a little and from the french to english dictionary.
